Mixe Olla 2 Bocas

This Olla (pot) was made by artisans in Santa Maria Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca in the Sierra Mixe.

It was handmade using local clay from mines in Tlahuitoltepec. It was baked/cooked in open fire in a natural finish with some black burn marks adorning its surface.

This piece is an olla (pot) designed with a mix of traditional and modern elements. Once used solely for the kitchen, it has now extended its use for styling around the home. This piece has two mouth openings with a handle in the middle for easy transport. This piece is completely unglazed.
