Headed by Sr. Jose Garcia Antonio who has been making clay pieces since he was a boy. This has led Sr. Jose to be a master of his craft to date.
23 years ago we lost his vision due to glaucoma. He and his family thought his life as a ceramist had come to a halt. He halted everything for 2 months, and after much cheering from his family, friends, and colleagues he made his first piece...
After he was done, he asked his family "Como me quedo?" How did it come out?
Sr. Jose recounts how he just heard a cheer from everyone. They all told him that it was as if he still had his vision!
Interestingly enough Sr. Jose would said that when he had his vision we would sell only a few pieces...Now that he is blind, his pieces are very coveted.
Sr. Jose proudly says that his 3 children are now continuing his legacy: Sara, Esther and Jose.
A phrase that Sr. Jose left us with was "Le sonrio a la vida" I smile at life...
His taller's name is Taller Manos Que Ven which translates to Hands that See
