Our Story

Morenita Zapoteca was created by indigenous Oaxaca native, Laura Lopez. The name is the embodiment of who Laura is, a proud brown Zapotec woman. In addition, it pays homage to the all the beautiful indigenous women of Oaxaca and all of Mexico alike.

At Morenita Zapoteca we sell pottery, textiles, and apparel that are sourced directly from indigenous artisans from villages throughout Oaxaca. Our goal is to bring you a curated collection of 100% hand-made pieces that are ethically-made, and fairly-traded.

Our mission is not only to work in direct partnership with artisans, but also to encourage ethically-made and sustainable products. In this manner we can deepen our respect for mother earth who is the provider of all of our items.
