Atzompa Martinez Collection

This collection comes from Atzompa, Oaxaca, Mexico.

When Spaniards arrived in Mexico they deemed our natural earth toned clay as "inferior", thus introducing the green glaze for which Atzompa is emblematic.

We have partnered with artisans who have reclaimed our old ways of making clay; using ancestral kilns and ancestral techniques. Using a process of reduction firing to yield their natural earth tones. Each piece is reminiscent of our ancestral pottery which are still found in archeological sites today.

We also feature green glazed pieces as they are emblematic to Atzompa.

These amazing artisans hold generations of craftsmanship and wisdom, all the while mixing traditional and modern designs in their pieces. You will enjoy each piece as it will last the test of time.
