Barro Rojo

Our red clay comes from our neighboring town of San Marcos Tlapazola located in the central valley region of Oaxaca. What makes red clay so special is that it has a natural red wash that gives it its vibrant red color. All of these pieces are unglazed making them perfect for kitchen use. Lead-free.

Most of the artisans that continue to make these pieces are women in the Tlapazola town. Your purchase allows us to continue supporting woman who have learned their craft spanning many generations back.
