Origin: Santa Maria Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca. Sierra Mixe.
Material: Natural Clay from Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca.
Technique: Cooked using open air kilns.
Color: Natural Clay finish with slight burn marks adorning it’s surface. Wind, fire temp, debris, and weather all play a role in the finished look. Just like snowflakes, no two pieces are the same.

Description: this clay cantaro is tapered at the mouth and has three handles. It also has a mecapal that was used to transport water to the campo. The mecapal was used on the forehead in order to use spinal strength v back/shoulders to carry. Perfect to style around your home.
