Style

Origin: Santa Maria Atzompa, Oaxaca by artisan Ana Martinez.

Material: Black and white clay found in and around Atzompa. Combined they balance each other out to compose a malleable consistency that allows the artisan to bring their creations to life.

Technique: Hand-made, built & fire baked using ancestral cooking techniques. Once cooked, they are thrown into a saw dust compost that yields its burnt natural earth tones. This process is known as reduction firing.

Care Instructions

  • Clay: Rinse and dry a couple times before first use. No dishsoap due to its porous nature.
  • Textiles: Hand-wash only. Line dry
  • Natural Fibers: Keep in a dry place.
