Origin: Pinotepa de Don Luis, Oaxaca, Mexico by artisan Jose "Pepe" Cruz Sanchez and his family spanning 3 generations. The focus of the Sanchez family has always been on innovation of the hand-carved gourd technique which in turn has led them to other artistic disciplines. However, they never steer too far from the traditional essence of their art.
Description: The design for these jicaras are unique designs made by our partnered artisan, Pepe Cruz and his family for our store. Rest assured this design exists only here in our store!
Materials: Made using dried-out calabash fruit.
Technique: Hand painted, and the designs are then hand-carved one by one.
Color: White
Dimension: due to natural material, spheres will not be perfectly round. Slight variation in dimensions is to be expected
~ 3.25 in - 4.5 in spheres
Care: Keep in individual bag or wrapped separately to avoid color rubbing off.

- Clay: Rinse and dry a couple times before first use. No dishsoap due to its porous nature.
