Zapotec Face Cup | Natural Tone

Origin: Santa Maria Atzompa, Oaxaca by artisan Ana Martinez.

Material: White and black clay found in and around Atzompa. Combined they balance each other out to compose a malleable consistency that allows the artisan to bring their creations to life.

Technique: Each piece is hand-made and hand-built. Once cooked, they are thrown into a saw dust compost that yields its unpredictable earth tones known as reduction firing.

Care: Use of heavy soaps discouraged due to their porous nature. Food-Safe & Lead Free.

** Due to the natural elemental process of these pieces, some finished may be darker and or "dirty" while others are "cleaner" more uniform. Due their handmade nature, no one piece will be the same.
